Costs Disclosure.
Before you submit your instructions, you read and sign this Costs Disclosure. It is the binding statement of fees for your matter, made under the legal profession rules of your jurisdiction.
1. The work to be done
Good Legal Lawyers Pty Ltd ABN [ABN] (the firm) is retained to prepare the document(s) identified above, in accordance with the instructions you provide through this intake. The retainer is for drafting, conference, attendance for signing, and the provision of two engrossed copies (one to you, one held on the firm's file).
2. Fee for the work
The fee for the work is the $ · shown above, plus GST. This is a fixed fee. No additional charge is made for ordinary correspondence, the conference, or the signing appointment.
3. When the fee is paid
The fee is paid on delivery. No payment is taken before delivery. You attend the office, the document is executed in our presence, and the fee is paid at that point by card or bank transfer.
4. Out-of-pocket expenses
The fee includes ordinary out-of-pocket expenses (printing, attendances). If anything out-of-the-ordinary is required (for example, a medical opinion on capacity, or an attendance outside the office), we tell you the cost before it is incurred and you decide whether to authorise it.
5. Out-of-the-ordinary instructions
The fixed fee assumes a straightforward instruction set. Where the instructions are out of the ordinary · testamentary trusts, complex tax planning, foreign assets, family-law-affected estates, or capacity in question · we tell you on the first phone call and quote separately.
6. Your right to negotiate
You are entitled to negotiate the costs agreement. If you wish to do so, phone the office on 0421 717 019 before you submit this form.
7. The applicable law
This Costs Disclosure is given under the legal profession rules of your jurisdiction.
8. Your right to receive an itemised account
You are entitled to receive an itemised account on request. Because this is a fixed-fee retainer, no itemised account is rendered as a matter of course.
9. Your rights if a dispute arises
If a dispute arises about costs and cannot be resolved with us directly, you have the right to apply to the Office of the Legal Services Commissioner (NSW) or the Legal Services Commissioner (ACT) for an independent review.
10. The retainer takes effect on submission
By signing below and pressing Submit instructions, you accept this Costs Disclosure and the retainer commences. The firm will phone you within one business day to arrange the conference.
