Stay silent.
Give your name and address. Beyond that, say nothing about the matter. The right to silence is yours. Use it.

Ask for a lawyer.
You are entitled to communicate with a lawyer in private before any interview. Ask for a phone. Ask for us.

Do not consent to anything.
Not to a search beyond a warrant, not to a recorded interview, not to a phone download, not to a fingerprint procedure unless required by law. Politely decline.

Phone us.
The after-hours line is answered. If we cannot speak immediately, leave a number. We will call back within minutes.
If someone is in immediate physical danger, phone 000 first. The emergency services are not your enemy in a dangerous moment.
Bail application conference
If a bail application needs to happen now.
For a family member or referrer organising a bail application, you can book the conference directly. The weekday conference covers Monday to Friday in any NSW Local Court. The out-of-hours conference covers Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, when the Local Court runs reduced sittings.
